Holt was required reading for my Education classes. I need to read it again actually!LOL
I LOVE Playful Parenting... I read it again a few months ago.
Now I need to finish some half read books, I Know This Much Is True and The Read-Aloud Handbook.
I have been playing with the idea of forming a book club here in town. I was part of one through the library and I really liked it. But they only do like 4 books a year and they only meet for four months. I'm sure other moms want to read together, I just have to find them!LOL
two lighters, an Ikea plate, iPod headphones, chapstick, three pens, my roommate's keys, a computer case. And then underneath are about 5 board games and several seasons of the West Wing.
My coffee table:: playful parenting (so agree UmmLayla!) and Traverse Magazine and a mess of drawings by the kiddos and an amazing photography book by Chip Duncan, Enough to go Around, about his work in Afghanistan, Darfur, and Pakistan. Beautiful, hope-filled, joyful images of people throughout...and good reminders for those of us living in the states.

Catherine Newman's Waiting for Birdy- the best memoir I've found on being a mom.
