These cute re-purposed t-shirt pants from
this awesome book, with my super old 1908 Singer sewing machine. It looks pretty cool but seriously I need a machine that can do more than the one stitch( it doesn't even stitch backward) and does not weigh a thousand pounds. My coming birthday is this July. (hint hint hubby!)
Peace

Beautiful machine! Is it electric? It's my machine's mama :)
The pants are super cute too. I need to get started sewing clothes. I have a lot of fabric for skirts but have never taken the time to experiment with sewing knits. Did you need to know anything in particular?
Thank you girls!
Lauren-the machine is surprisingly electric, I took it to our local fabric store and they checked the model and told me it's a 1908 machine, I was pretty shocked!
They also told me it won't sew knits, but I tried anyway, and it was hard but it worked.
I have no idea how to sew knits, they're tricky 'cause they stretch so I put that in mind when I stitched. There's this wonderful book about sewing knits that professional sewers recommend here's the link http://www.amazon.com/Sew-Home-Stretch-Sewing-Fabrics/dp/0316118370/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237916818&sr=1-1
I love the pants!!! ,d I have another title for you. "The Illustrated Hassle-Free Make Your Own Clothes Book" originally printed in 1971 and reprinted in '08. It's cool either way you find it because the reprint is basically the same. It has a very fun hippy down with the man make your own kinda tone. I think you'd like it!
Oh, BTW I learned on that very machine!!!LOL
Umm Layla- I checked out the book you recommended on Amazon and it looks like something I could use. I really like the reviews. Thank you!
