Questions?

Here are a couple of questions for you. How do I copyright my images and content, do I just say "all images and content are copyrighted" and magically it becomes so?

Also how do people add those dotted lines when they want to add something unrelated to their post?

Unrelated here's a little something for all you vintage sewing machine lovers out there! maybe I should go to Saudi Arabia and sell my 100 years old singer machine and make a lot of money ha!

Peace

The minimum you need to do to copyright your images is to make what's called a constructive notice. A constructive notice includes the word and/or symbol 'copyright', the year, and the name of the owner of the image.

like this:
(c) copyright 2009 Stumpy Stumperino

you can also register your copyright at www.copyright.gov but that is not a condition for copyright protection, it just makes the copyright stronger.

cheers,
Stumpy Stuperino, ESQ.

my grandmother has a very old Singer swing machine...I should have her hold on to it then for protection!

Stumpy's signature is ... thorough. :) You can also use Creative Commons -- their license chooser asks some simple questions about whether you will allow your stuff to be reused for commercial purposes, and if you will allow it to be modified and reused for non-commercial purposes. You tell it some other info and then it spits out the code you can paste into your blogger template somewhere. There is an example on our blog, in the right sidebar.

re: Dotted lines -- what do you mean? do you have an example?

Assalaamu alaikum,

Okay, that's crazy about the sewing machine!

I don't know about the copyright bit, but the other info left here seems fitting.

As for the dotted lines, I think all you need to do is hit the asterisk key or the dash key for a little and that will create the dotted line. But you have to preview the post first to make sure you didn't make the line go out into another column and throw off the margins. I hope this is what you meant. :0)

Stumpy- Looove your signature. LOL. Always full of useful information as ever:)

Yasmine- Yes, have your Grammy hold on to it;) You never know!

Lauren- I can't thank you enough for all your advice... I bought the new/old sewing machine based on your priceless advice and I'm loving it:)

Robyn- that's exactly what I meant by the dots. Thank you for the tip:)

Everyone, I also forgot to ask how to scribble a line so that it shows what I wrote but there's a line over it to show this information is no longer valid. Do you understand what I mean?

I know that one! It's an HTML tag called strike. Put [ strike ] in front of the text you want to draw a line through, and [ /strike ] at the end. Replace the [ and ] with < and > though, and remove the spaces.

Ok Lauren, Can you give and example about the strike tag? I tried it and it didn't work. I'm assuming I did something wrong. Thank you!

I'll have to email it to you -- Blogger comments won't let me use it exactly as you need it.

Here, I wrote up a little example. Is this what you are looking for? http://laurenisms.com/strike.html
